Sears to anchor new LV mall

The 1 million square foot center now lists Robinsons-May, Lord & Taylor, Dillard's and Sears as anchor tenants. The company is still seeking a fifth department store tenant for the mall. Rouse, based in Columbia, Md., is the parent company of Las Vegas-based Howard Hughes Corp.

Officials today said Summerlin Center is now slated to open in 2004, four years later than Rouse's original estimates.

Rouse also reported that the first phase of the expansion of its Las Vegas Strip Fashion Show mall is now set for completion in fall 2001, more than a year behind original plans. The project is scheduled for completion in 2003.

A spokesman for Howard Hughes said Bloomingdale's remains a planned anchor tenant in the expansion, and hasn't been removed from the plans at any time. Bloomingdale's will join Lord & Taylor as new tenants in the mall.
