Donald George Betzler

Donald George Betzler, 50, of Boulder City died Sunday in Boulder City. He was born Jan. 11, 1950, in Elizabeth, N.J. A resident for five years, he was an automobile mechanic.

He is survived by his parents, Mary and Donald Betzler of Boulder City; one sister, Pamela J. Miller of the Dominican Republic; and three brothers, David C. Betzler of Santa Fe, N.M., Douglas C. Betzler of Incline Village and Cyra H. Betzler of Las Vegas.

Visitation is scheduled 4-7 p.m. today with a 6:30 p.m. service in Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson. Graveside services will be 9:30 a.m. Thursday in Boulder City Cemetery, 501 Adams Blvd.

Yumiko Binion

Yumiko Binion, 67, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. She was born Aug. 10, 1932, in Wakamatsu, Japan. A resident for 13 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by one daughter, Wanda Barlow of Crestview, Fla.; two sons, William Binion of Las Vegas and Joseph Binion of San Diego; and 13 grandchildren.

A memorial service will be noon Friday in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St.

Nelson Charles Burger Jr.

Nelson Charles Burger Jr., 81, of Las Vegas died July 9 in Las Vegas. He was born April 23, 1919, in Newark, N.Y. A resident for 43 years, he was a sales manager for Prudential Insurance and a World War II Navy veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Irene; three brothers, Edgar Burger of Roseville, Calif., Walter Burger of Kearny, N.J., and Frank Burger; and one sister, Elizabeth Skell of Irvington, N.J.

Services are pending. Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North, is handling arrangements.

Warren Ralph Coffman

Warren Ralph Coffman, 72, of Pahrump died Sunday in Pahrump. He was born Jan. 6, 1928, in Idel, Iowa. A resident for nine years, he was a retired cartoon animator at Disneyland.

He is survived by two sisters, Mary Carr of Pahrump and Fern Griffeon of Idel; and his special friend, Elmer Blum of Pahrump.

A memorial service will be 3 p.m. Friday in Pahrump Family Mortuary, 2240 E. Calvada Blvd.

Lois M. Dalman

Lois M. Dalman, 75, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. She was born Jan. 11, 1925, in Illinois. A resident for 27 years, she was a homemaker and a member of Royal Neighbors of America.

She is survived by one stepdaughter, Shirley Dalman of Las Vegas; one brother, Lonnie Robert Randolph of Joliet, Ill.; two grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Davis Funeral Home, 2127 W. Charleston Blvd., is handling private services. Burial will be in Illinois.

Clifton Allen Englund

Clifton Allen Englund, 90, of Las Vegas died July 12 in a local hospital. He was born Sept. 3, 1909, in Darfur, Minn. A resident for three months, he was a retired federal government meteorologist and a veteran of the Navy Coast Guard.

He is survived by two sons, Charles Englund of Sarasota, Fla., and Robert Englund of Las Vegas.

Leonard Wilton Harviel

Leonard Wilton Harviel, 72, of Henderson died Monday in a local hospice. He was born May 16, 1928, in Missouri. A resident for 10 years, he was a civil service property book officer, a retired Army lieutenant colonel, a lifetime member of the American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars, a member of the Oriental band of the Zelzah Shrine Temple, a member of Dhahran Masonic Lodge, Scottish Rite, TROA and Spirit of St. Louis Masonic Lodge and a member and volunteer at the activity office at Nellis Air Force Base 1990-1999.

He is survived by his wife, Sally; two sons, Staff Sgt. Leonard Harviel Jr. of Fort Knox, Ky., and Ted of St. Louis; one daughter, Diane Zazzaro of California; two stepsons, Michael Boatright and Christopher Wiencken, both of Indiana; eight grandchildren, six step-grandchildren and two step-great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be 10 a.m. July 28 in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City. Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North, is handling arrangements.

Mary Ann Hastings

Mary Ann Hastings, 72, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. She was born May 23, 1928, in Missouri. A resident for 63 years, she was a hotel housekeeper.

She is survived by three daughters, Mary Hastings, Sandra Smith and Joann La Count; one brother, Herman Fisher; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Services will be 4 p.m. Thursday in Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North.

Calvin Kazuo Hokama

Calvin Kazuo Hokama, 38, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. He was born Oct. 14, 1961, in Gardena, Calif. A resident for 27 years, he was a hotel maintenance man.

He is survived by his parents, George and Sally Hokama of Las Vegas; and his grandmother, Tomi Hokama of Los Angeles.

Services will be 2 p.m. Thursday in Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Burial will be private.

Sal J. Iacono

Sal J. Iacono, 92, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. He was born June 10, 1908, in New York City. A resident for 25 years, he was a film developer at Pathe Motion Pictures.

He is survived by three sons, Vincent Iacono and Frank Potenza of New York and Jimmy Kimmel of Tempe, Ariz.; three daughters, Chippy Potenza of Las Vegas, Joan Kimmel of Tempe and Fran Iacono of New York; two sisters, Ruth Umile and Celia Russo, both of New York; nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 3-7 p.m. Thursday in Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Additional visitation is scheduled one hour prior to a 5:30 p.m. rosary Friday in Christ the King Church, 4925 S. Torrey Pines Drive. Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday in Christ the King Church. Burial will follow in Memory Gardens.

Helen Kampo

Helen Kampo, 67, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospital. She was born Oct. 20, 1932, in London, Ontario. A resident for 13 years, she was a retired proofer of medical transcriptions, a member of the American Association of Medical Transcriptions and the 99s Women's Pilots Association.

She is survived by one brother, Clyde Reid of London; and one sister, Aileen McMorrow of San Francisco.

A memorial service will be 3 p.m. Thursday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave.

Alma McClelland

Alma McClelland, 77, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. She was born Oct. 1, 1921, in Ohio. A resident for 25 years, she owned a food business, was a member of the Poker Club and was the 1989 Ladies World Poker Champion.

She is survived by her husband, Jack; four sons, James W. Kerber and Jack C. Kerber, both of Ohio, Gerrold P. Kerber of Arizona and Jeff P. Kerber of Las Vegas; and five brothers, Paul Hoying, Robert C. Hoying, Cliff Hoying, Tom Hoying and Ludwig Hoying, all of Ohio.

No local services are scheduled. Burial will be in Ohio. Hites Funeral Services, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson, is handling arrangements.

Winnie Moreland

Winnie Moreland, 87, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. She was born Aug. 5, 1912, in Arkansas. A resident for 15 years, she was a teacher at Twin Lakes Elementary School and a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution.

She is survived by one daughter, June Frye of Pahrump; four sisters, Emma Willbanks of New Mexico, Carole Nickles of Oklahoma, Mary Lee Petty of Kansas and Dixie Mead of Arkansas; four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday in First Southern Baptist Church, Pahrump.

Jeannette I. Morris

Jeannette I. Morris, 73, of Las Vegas died July 6 in Las Vegas. She was born Aug. 20, 1926, in Portland, Ore. A resident for 16 years, she was a federal government administrator and a member of the Air Force Sergeants Association.

She is survived by two daughters, Margaret Hockenberry of West Virginia and Debra Gloria of California; one son, Robert Morris of Colorado; one brother, Stewart Fischer of Tigard, Ore.; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

American Burial and Cremation Services, 310 Foremaster Lane, is handling private arrangements.

Joseph Person

Joseph Person, 77, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local care center. He was born Oct. 17, 1922, in New York. A resident for 24 years, he was a retired taxi driver and World War II Army veteran.

Richard W. Pfiefer

Richard W. Pfiefer, 62, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. He was born Nov. 11, 1937, in Denver. A resident for many years, he was a salesman and a Marine Corps veteran.

He is survived by one daughter, Thomasina Newby of Oregon.

Ronald George Rawson

Ronald George Rawson, 67, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. He was born Dec. 7, 1932, in Overland, Mo. A resident for 37 years, he was a retired Air Force technical sergeant and a corrections officer.

He is survived by his wife, Carolyn; one daughter, Cynthia of Las Vegas; and one grandson, Ronald Ruben.

Visitation is scheduled 5-8 p.m. Friday in Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave. Services are scheduled 10 a.m. Saturday in Paradise Valley Funeral Home. Burial will be in Paradise Memorial Gardens.

Barbara E. Remsen

Barbara E. Remsen, 59, of Las Vegas died July 6 in a local hospital. She was born Nov. 23, 1940, in Jersey City, N.J. A resident for nine years, she was an account executive.

She is survived by her husband, Stephen; one daughter, Barbara Stone of Sanford, Fla.; two sons, John Phelps of Long Branch, N.J., and Scott Lipman of Neptune, N.J.; one brother, Louis Barr of Merrick Island, Fla.; and five grandchildren.

Manuel Martin Rocha

Manuel Martin Rocha, 53, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. A resident for 23 years, he was born Dec. 3, 1946, in Texas.

He is survived by one son, Frankie; three daughters, Angela, Irene and Charlotte; one brother, Oscar; six sisters, Maria, Luisa, Rosie, Isabel, Minnie and Carmen; and 11 grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. services Thursday in Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North.

Don Torgerson

Don Torgerson, 63, of Henderson died Monday in Henderson. He was born Oct. 22, 1936, in Minot, N.D. A resident for two years, he was a retired petroleum engineer.

He is survived by his wife, Elsa; one son, Robert Torgerson of Houston; one daughter, Mary Alice Rasmuson of Henderson; and his mother, Amber Hendrickson of Barstow, Calif.

A memorial service will be 5 p.m. Thursday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave.

Patricia Ann Willson, 51, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in Las Vegas. She was born Dec. 12, 1948, in Monroe, La. A resident for seven years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by one son, Patrick Wilson of Las Vegas; one daughter, Hapautha Womack of London; her mother, Jean Tyler; and eight grandchildren.
