Brian C. Berry

Brian C. Berry, 41, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospital. He was born Oct. 4, 1959, in Orlando, Fla. A resident for six years, he was a grocery store manager and a Navy veteran.

He is survived by his parents, Barbara and James Berry, of Las Vegas; and two sisters, Deborah Lopez of Las Vegas and Wanda Hinton.

Kenneth Biggar

Kenneth Biggar, 90, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospital. He was born Oct. 15, 1910, in Bonners Ferry, Idaho. A resident for 42 years, he was a retired restaurant steward.

He is survived by two sons, Thomas Biggar of Las Vegas and Samuel Biggar of Anchorage, Alaska; and five grandchildren.

Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Friday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave.

Lucille Harriett Canada

Lucille Harriett Canada, 89, of Las Vegas died Thursday in a California nursing home. She was born July 9, 1911, in Guy, Ark. A resident for 40 years, she was a beautician.

She is survived by one son, Glen Canada of Tehachapi, Calif.; one sister, Billie Saloan, and one brother, Shorty Hartwick, both of Little Rock, Ark.; 10 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be 2 p.m. today in Memory Gardens, 7251 W. Lone Mountain Road. Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North, is handling arrangements.

Jacqueline Cox

Jacqueline Cox, 64, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. A retired warehouse supervisor for Associated Pathologists Laboratories, she was born July 26, 1936, in Gebo, Wyo.

She is survived by her husband, Anthony; one daughter, Nikola Eckenbeck, and one son, Scott Aitken, both of Seattle; six stepchildren; one sister, Jeannette Clodfelter of Billings, Mont.; one granddaughter and 12 step-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Thursday in Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North.

JoAnn B. Clarke

JoAnn B. Clarke, 69, of Henderson died Saturday in a local hospital. She was born Sept. 28, 1931, in Ames, Iowa. A resident for 39 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband, C. Howard; one daughter, Roxanna of Henderson; two sons, Mark Clarke of Henderson and Bruce Clarke of Moore, Okla.; one sister, Linda Cox of Winslow, Ariz.; and six grandchildren.

Visitation will continue until 7 p.m. today in Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson. Services will be 2 p.m. Thursday in Christ Lutheran Church, 111 N. Torrey Pines. Entombment will follow in Palm Mausoleum.

Salome Cruto

Salome Cruto, 71, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. She was born Feb. 7, 1929, in the Philippines. A resident for 12 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by four sons, Reynaldo Cruto, Orlando Cruto, Arielito Cruto and Rodelio Cruto, all of Las Vegas; two daughters, Marilou Delara of Las Vegas and Shirley Delara of the Philippines; two sisters, Natividad Belauro and Adelina Remilla, both of the Philippines; 13 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Visitation will continue until 7 p.m. today and 1-7 p.m. Thursday and Friday in Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday in Bunkers Chapel. Burial will follow in Eden Vale Memorial Park.

Richard David

Richard David, 73, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. He was born July 7, 1927, in South River, N.J. A resident for 37 years, he was a Clark County School District teacher and principal for more than 35 years, a lecturer at UNLV where he trained and supervised student teachers and was president of Southern Nevada Community Concerts for seven years.

He is survived by his wife, Rochelle; one daughter, Rena David of Oakland, Calif.; one son, Randy David of Princeton, N.J.; and one grandson.

Services will be 3 p.m. Thursday in Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave. Burial will follow in Paradise Memorial Gardens.

Jan Marten 'Dutch' de Jonge

Jan Marten "Dutch" de Jonge, 73, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospice. He was born Nov. 17, 1926, in Holland. A resident for 26 years, he was a retired engineer.

He is survived by his wife, Katherine; four sons, Charles de Jonge and Tom de Jonge, both of Las Vegas, Frank de Jonge of Everett, Wash., and Jan Marten de Jonge of Garden Grove, Calif.; one daughter, Christina Kagle of Maine; and 10 grandchildren.

A memorial service will be 2 p.m. Friday in Affordable Cremation and Burial Service, 2457 N. Decatur Blvd.

Greta S. Frieburg

Greta S. Frieburg, 80, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. She was born April 3, 1920, in Vienna, Austria. A resident for eight years, she was a retired artist and a veteran of the Coast Guard Auxiliary in California.

She is survived by one daughter, Eva Donghi of Chile; two sons, Helmuth Thomas of Norway and Peter Kent of Beale Air Force Base, Calif.; one sister, Charlotte Gibbs of Argentina; her companion, Stevon Arthur of Las Vegas; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Visitation is scheduled 1 p.m. until 3 p.m. services Saturday in Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave.

Dorothy I. Garvin, 87, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local health care center. She was born Sept. 26, 1913, in Minneapolis. A resident for 27 years, she was a gift shop saleswoman at the Four Queens.

She is survived by two sons, Gene Garvin and Michael Garvin, both of Las Vegas; one brother, Lyman Harris of Normal, Ill.; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

A celebration of life will be 4 p.m. Saturday at 124 Celia Place. Davis Funeral Home, 2127 W. Charleston Blvd., is handling arrangements.

Arnold Howard

Arnold Howard, 85, of Henderson died Tuesday in a local hospital. He was born Aug. 30, 1915, in New York City. A resident for 12 years, he was a retired pre-need mortuary salesman, a member of Daylite Masonic Lodge and Scottish Rite Bodies.

He is survived by his wife, Shirley; one daughter, Joyce Gurfein of Studio City, Calif.; one son, David Howard of Las Vegas; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Paul S. Jones, 84, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospice. He was born July 11, 1916, in Missouri. A resident for 45 years, he was a recreational vehicle salesman.

He is survived by one son, Paul S. Jones Jr.; and one daughter, Pamela S. Morris.

Beatrice Mary Katsones

Beatrice Mary Katsones, 74, of Henderson died Sunday in Henderson. She was born July 9, 1926, in Ohio. A resident for 2 1/2 years, she was a retired real estate executive.

She is survived by her husband, Palmer; five sons, Kenneth Kolleda of Ventura, Calif., John Michael Kolleda of Santa Clarita, Calif., Kelly Joseph Kolleda of California and Keith Thomas Kolleda and George Peter Katones, both of Palmdale, Calif.; one daughter, Kathryn Louise deBrauwere of Carpinteria, Calif.; one brother, Duane Crozier of Sylmar, Calif.; one sister, Ione Wood of Orange, Ohio; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Margaret L. Martin, 73, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospital. She was born July 16, 1927, in Arkansas. A resident for 30 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by two daughters, Mary Lou Anderson and Cindy Martin, and two sons, Rick Martin and Steven Anderson, all of Las Vegas; and one granddaughter.

Pansy Marie Meador, 93, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. She was born Feb. 14, 1907, in West Virginia. A resident for more than two years, she was a homemaker.

Mary Margaret Mendenhall

Mary Margaret Mendenhall, 88, of Henderson died Monday in Henderson. She was born Dec. 8, 1911, in New Jersey. A resident for many years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by one son, Robert K. Mendenhall of Lakewood, Calif.

Fred R. Moser

Fred R. Moser, 87, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local care center. He was born Oct. 4, 1913, in Itasca, Ill. A resident for 17 years, he was a painter/wallpaperer, a World War II Navy veteran, a member of the Painters Union and Moose.

He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth; two sons, Frederick Moser of Addison, Ill., and Jeffery Moser of Chicago; one daughter, Marylou Moser of Elgin, Ill.; one sister, Elsie Antognoli of Shamburg, Ill.; seven grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Paul W. Nance

Paul W. Nance, 67, of North Las Vegas died Oct. 9 in North Las Vegas. A longtime resident, he was born July 13, 1933.

Robert G. Parrott

Robert G. Parrott, 80, of Hurricane, Utah, died Saturday in a local hospital. He was born June 23, 1920, in Flint, Mich. A former Henderson resident from 1964 until 1994, he was a retired sheet metal maintenance worker at the Nevada Test Site, a member of the Silver State Riders and Gold Wing Road Riders.

He is survived by three daughters, Merna Wright of Hurricane, and Mary Patterson and Donna Martinez, both of Henderson; three sons, Paul Parrott of Pahrump, Danny Parrott of Las Vegas and Richard Hess of Henderson; one sister, Mryna Simpkins of Marshall, Mich.; two brothers, Donald Parrott of Jackson, Mich., and William L. Parrot of Parma, Mich.; 19 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

A memorial service will be 3 p.m. Saturday in Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson.

Wanda Pickel, 76, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. She was born Aug. 2, 1924, in Pennsylvania. A resident for 32 years, she was a retired stenographer.

She is survived by her husband, Roy; one son, Roy Pickel Jr. of San Jose, Calif.; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Louella Piper

Louella Piper, 70, of Carson City died Monday in Carson City. She was born May 2, 1930, in White Castle, Pa. A former Las Vegas resident from 1988 until 1995, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by three daughters, Kathy Balmer of Salt Lake City and Brenda Caldwell and Susan Burns, both of Carson City; one son, Paul Piper of Henderson; one sister, Jean Valarde of Milton, Fla.; three brothers, Donald Savage and William Savage, both of Parowan, Utah, and Leonard Savage of Orange County, Calif.; nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Visitation was scheduled one hour prior to 4 p.m. services today in Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson.

John Poster, 61, of Las Vegas died Monday in Henderson. He was born May 26, 1939, in Pittsburgh. A resident for 25 years, he was a sports book employee.

He is survived by one daughter, Mary Ann Larson, and one son, Timothy Poster, both of Henderson; his mother, Anna Poster, and one sister, Luanne Beck, both of South Carolina; and two grandchildren.

Elaine Genevieve Rinaldi, 77, of North Las Vegas died Friday in Phoenix. A resident for six years, she was born Sept. 10, 1923, in North Las Vegas.

She is survived by her husband, Peter; three sons, Raymond Rinaldi of Prairie View, Ill., Michael Rinaldi of Scottsdale, Ariz., and Roger Rinaldi of Streamwood, Ill.; one sister, Barbara Klein of Fort Wayne, Ind.; nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Delbert Woodrow Rittenhouse Jr., 55, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. A welder and an Army veteran, he was born Jan. 2, 1945, in Denver.

He is survived by one daughter, Paula Delgado of Las Vegas; his mother, Virginia Rittenhouse of North Carolina; three brothers, Leroy Rittenhouse, Gene Rittenhouse of Erie, Pa., and Wesley Rittenhouse of Tennessee; three sisters, Dixie Woods of Cathedral City, Calif., Lillian Rittenhouse of Phoenix and Bonnie Hayes of North Carolina; and three grandchildren.

Sol Nicholas Saitta, 57, of Las Vegas died Oct. 7 in a local hospital. He was born May 18, 1943, in Chicago. A resident for 40 years, he was a retired taxicab driver and a Vietnam War Army veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Linda; three daughters, Crystal Fortune, Nicole Saitta and Candi Saitta, all of Rome, Ga.; and one sister, Marie Morris of Simi Valley, Calif.

Hazel Ilene Scheele

Hazel Ilene Scheele, 84, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local health care center. She was born March 19, 1916, in Belleville, Kan. A resident for 17 years, she was a homemaker, a member of the Republican Business Women's Club, Zonta Club and Opti-Mrs. Club, a volunteer with Community Chest, Meals on Wheels and the Retired Senior Volunteer Program, a Methodist Hospital pink lady in charge of candy stripers in Rochester, Minn., and a Campfire Girls troop leader who won the Guilick Award.

She is survived by one daughter, Kathryn Pomykala of Las Vegas; one son, Roy Scheele, and one sister, Lois Adams, both of Lincoln, Neb.; three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Robert Smith, 69, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. He was born Nov. 12, 1930, in North Carolina. A resident for 26 years, he was a retired Air Force veteran and a member of Trinity Life Center.

He is survived by one son, Robert Smith Jr.; two daughters, Judy and Cathy Smith; and nine grandchildren.

Evelyn B. Stacey

Evelyn B. Stacey, 77, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. She was born Jan. 19, 1923, in New Orleans. A resident for 60 years, she was a casino uniform controller.

She is survived by one daughter, Marcia DeGray of Las Vegas; two sisters, Rita Julian and Mary Bonewitz, both of New Orleans; one grandchild and one great-grandchild.

Stephen Taylor

Stephen Taylor, 44, of Round Mountain died Saturday in a local hospital. He was born Oct. 12, 1956, in Hawthorne. A lifelong Nevada resident, he was a heavy duty equipment mechanic in the gold mining industry and a volunteer EMT for the Round Mountain and Tonopah fire departments.

He is survived by his wife, Denise; two sons, Steven Taylor of Phoenix and Kevin E. Taylor of Tonopah; two stepsons, Nathan Pharris and J.D. Holman, and one stepdaughter, Mariah Holman, all of Round Mountain; his father, Albert Taylor, and two brothers, Donald Eugene Taylor and William Taylor, all of Las Vegas; and one sister, Patricia Barr of Overton.

Sal Tragale Sr., 64, of Mesquite died Sunday in a local hospital. He was born April 3, 1936, in Brooklyn, N.Y. A resident for 22 years, he was a retired longshoreman and a Korean War Navy veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Danice; two sons, Salvatore Tragale Jr. of Lake Tahoe and Steven Tragale of Las Vegas; one daughter, Theresa Joy Tragale, his mother, Esther Auletti, and one brother, Joseph Tragale, all of Las Vegas; and six grandchildren.

A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Saturday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Burial will be private.

William Yates Sr.

William Yates Sr., 65, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospital. He was born June 23, 1935, in Scranton, Pa. A resident for 18 years, he was a retired furniture salesman, a Vietnam War Marine Corps veteran and a member of the American Legion.

He is survived by his wife, Margaret; three daughters, Perrianne Miner of Loveland, Colo., Kim Hamilton of Mechnicsburg, Pa., and Kristine Diaferrio of Enola, Pa.; five sons, William D. Yates Jr. and Robert W. Yates, both of Loveland, Kenneth A. Yates, Michael P. Yates of Fort Collins, Colo., and Ronald Mahan of Bowling Green, Ky.; 19 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
