Starlight movies
The Clark County Parks and Community Services Department presents "The Starlight Movie Series" today at Paradise Park at Tropicana and McLeod. The free movie begins at 8:30 p.m. Bring picnic baskets, blankets and lawn chairs, but no alcohol or pets. 455-8278.
Harvest Festival
The Las Vegas Harvest Festival will be held from today to Sunday at Cashman Center, 850 Las Vegas Blvd. North. The festival features hundreds of exhibitors, demonstration artists, food and fun. Book review

Art contest
Entries are being accepted for a competition sponsored by the Nevada State Museum and Historical Society to complement the museum's "Neon Unplugged: Signs from the Boneyard" exhibit. Fun run
The Police and Fire Emerald Society of Nevada will hold a fund-raising 5K fun run/walk starting at Green Valley Ranch in Henderson at 7 a.m. Saturday. The event is open to everyone.
