Leonard H. Burns

Leonard H. Burns, 52, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospital. He was born Feb. 20, 1952, in Tallulah, La. A resident for 37 years, he worked in a hotel warehouse.

He is survived by his wife, Mary; one son, Derrick Burns, one daughter, Angelica Burns, four brothers, James Burns, Charles Burns, Michael Burns and Robert Burns, and three sisters, Odessa Armstrong, Shirley Sistrunk and Sharon Burns, all of Las Vegas.

Visitation is scheduled noon-7 p.m. Sunday in Thomas and Jones Funeral Home, 310 Foremaster Lane. Services will be 1 p.m. Monday in Carver Baptist Church, 1221 N. J St. Burial will be private.

Mario Caldato Sr.

Mario Caldato Sr., 74, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. He was born Jan. 3, 1930, in Treviso, Italy. A resident for 11 years, he was a retired automotive mechanic.

He is survived by his wife, Guiomar; one son, Mario Caldato Jr. of Los Angeles; one son, Mario Caldato Jr. of Los Angeles; two daughters, Monica Lipscomb of Mountain View, Calif., and Carla Trujillo of Newbury Park, Calif.; and two grandchildren.

Odessa Dawkins

Odessa Dawkins, 62, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospital. She was born March 1, 1942, in Rosebud, Texas. A resident for 22 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband, Alfred L. Sr.; one daughter, Rhonda Sharee Dawkins, and one son, Alfred L. Dawkins Jr., both of Las Vegas; her mother, Dessa Beal of Barstow, Calif.; four sisters, Dorothy Lee and Marilyn Beal, both of Ogden, Utah, Rosemary Beal of Barstow and Zadie Jordon of Florida; and five brothers, Billy Joe Beal of Ogden, Benjamin Beal of Washington state, Don Beal of Riverside, Calif., and Clyde Beal and Bobby Beal, both of Barstow.

Visitation is scheduled 2-7 p.m. Sunday in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. Services will be 11 a.m. Monday in the Pentecostal Temple Church of God in Christ, 1117 N. F St.

Arlene Frost

Arlene Frost, 69, of Boulder City died Saturday. She was born Nov. 10, 1934, in Pine Mountain, Ark.

She is survived by her husband, Jack; two daughters, Jackie Palm of Boulder City and Susan Hester of Henderson; and one brother, Jack Dickens of Oakdale, Calif.; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be 2 p.m. Thursday in Central Christian Church, 1001 New Beginnings Drive, Henderson. Boulder City Family Mortuary, 833 Nevada Way, Suite 1, Boulder City, is handling arrangements.

Darrell 'Gary' Garrison

Darrell "Gary" Garrison, 92, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. A school district transportation supervisor and a World War II Army veteran, he was born Dec. 20, 1912, in New York.

He is survived by his companion, Dorothy Baker of Las Vegas; two sons, Bob Garrison and Gary Garrison, both of New York; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Dana Mae Gordon

Dana Mae Gordon, 79, of Pahrump died Tuesday in Pahrump. She was born March 8, 1925, in Huntington Beach, Calif. A resident for 40 years, she was a retired hotel-casino dealer.

He is survived by one daughter, Sharon Wehrly, and her companion, Gerald Lizon, both of Pahrump; one sister, Cora Hodgens of Garden Grove, Calif.; two grandsons; and two great-grandsons.

Visitation is scheduled 8-10 a.m. Saturday in the Masonic Lodge, Pahrump. Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday in the Masonic Lodge, Pahrump. Graveside services will follow in Chief Tecopa Cemetery, Pahrump. Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd., is handling arrangements.

Erma Lee Hodges

Erma Lee Hodges, 74, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. She was born April 27, 1930, in Robertsonville, Miss. A resident for 34 years, she was a hotel waitress.

She is survived by her husband, Rudolph; one daughter, Ruth White of Las Vegas; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday in New Revelation Missionary Baptist Church, 615 W. Van Buren Ave. A private burial will follow. Thomas and Jones Funeral Home, 310 Foremaster Lane, is handling arrangements.

Marion 'Jean' Hoffman

Marion "Jean" Hoffman, 85, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in a local hospice. She was born April 18, 1919, in Winnepeg, Manitoba. A resident for 42 years, she was a retired registered nurse and a member of American Legion Post 8 and the American Legion Women's Auxiliary.

She is survived by three daughters, Susan Ramos, Karen Hoffman and Cathryn Nickum, all of Las Vegas; one sister, Barbara Brown of Winnepeg; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday in Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave.

Marty Howell

Marty Howell, 43, of Las Vegas died Friday in Las Vegas. He was born April 2, 1961, in Indiana. A resident for 28 years, he was a masonry worker.

He is survived by his mother, Irene Howell; five sons, Marty Howell, Monte Howell, Mitchell Howell, Matthew Howell and Micah Howell; one daughter, Melaina Howell; two brothers, Sonny Howell and Scott Howell; and one sister, Cindy Laudensack.

Visitation was scheduled 9 a.m. today in Garden Memorial Funeral Home, 3600 W. Vegas Drive. Burial followed in Woodlawn Cemetery.

Charlene King

Charlene King, 89, of Las Vegas died Thursday in Las Vegas. She was born March 11, 1915, in Belle Plaine, Kan. A resident for 47 years, she was a retired cosmetologist and a member of the Emblem Club.

She is survived by one cousin, Phil Howard of Las Vegas.

Visitation is scheduled one hour prior to a 10 a.m. service Saturday in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. Burial will be in Palm Memorial Park.

Linda Rose Kushich

Linda Rose Kushich, 48, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. She was born Jan. 16, 1956, in Kansas City, Mo. A resident for 17 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband, Jeffery Michaelis; three sons, Charles Stamey, Levi Turnbow and Kenneth Kirk; one daughter, Maria Turnbow; her father, Mr. Jackson; her mother, Doris Pearson; three brothers, Tim Pearson, Roy Pearson and Charles Pearson; three sisters, Ellie Brooks, Grace Pearson and Johnna Pearson; and two grandchildren.

Peter T. LaMancusa

Peter T. LaMancusa, 43, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. A resident for 43 years, he was born Jan. 16, 1961, in Las Vegas.

He is survived by his parents, S. Joseph and Myrlene LaMancusa of Las Vegas; and three brothers, Joseph Carl LaMancusa of Finley, Ohio, and Anthony John LaMancusa and Louis Edward LaMancusa, both of Las Vegas.

Lilian Mason

Lilian Mason, 75, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. She was born Sept. 11, 1928, in England. A resident for 16 years, she was a seamstress.

She is survived by two sons, Roland Parker and Kenneth Parker.

Raymond J. Milewsky

Raymond J. Milewsky, 85, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in a local hospice. He was born Oct. 24, 1918, in Steubenville, Ohio. A resident for one year, he was a retired telephone company manager, a World War II Army veteran and a former commander of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.

He is survived by his wife, Mary E.; one daughter, Cheryl Quadretti of Beacon Falls, Conn.; three sons, Raymond W. Milewsky of Thousand Oaks, Calif., Robert John Milewsky of Agua Dulce, Calif., and Jeffrey Alan Milewsky of Las Vegas; one brother, William Milewsky of Sunrise, Fla.; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 5-7 p.m. today in Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave. Services will be 9 a.m. Saturday in St. Christopher's Catholic Church, 1840 N. Bruce St. Burial will follow in Palm Memorial Park.

Bernestine Love Mills

Bernestine Love Mills, 65, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. She was born July 4, 1939, in Tallulah, La. A resident for 45 years, she was a hospital nurse and a member of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People.

She is survived by one daughter, Lashawn White, Bridgette Love, Brenda Love and Myra Love, all of Las Vegas and Rhoda Mills of North Las Vegas; six sons, Andre Love, Dennis Love, Milas Love, Rickey Love, Derrick Love and Clinton Mills Jr., and two sisters, La Vonne Wright and Sheryl Wright, all of Las Vegas; three brothers, Clardy Wright Sr. of Seattle and Tony Wright and Thomas Wright, both of Las Vegas; 30 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Eugene Byron Peltier

Eugene Byron Peltier, 95, of Las Vegas died Thursday in Las Vegas. He was born Sept. 27, 1908, in Colorado. A resident for 10 years, he was a retired Southern California dairy worker.

He is survived by his wife, Doris; two sons, Eugene N. Peltier of Nevada and Jerry Peltier of California; one daughter, Carol of California; two stepsons, Wayne Hall and Dale Hall; numerous grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.

Judy Lee Penton

Judy Lee Penton, 63, of Henderson died Wednesday in a local hospital. She was born April 20, 1941, in Townsend, Mont. A resident for nine years, she was a retired machinist for an aircraft company.

She is survived by two daughters, Tracy Jo Himple of Henderson and Tammy L. Williamson of Bothell, Wash.; one son, Joe B. Penton Jr. of Henderson; four sisters, Joan Wheeler of Everett, Wash., Diana Silcox of Henderson, Sharon Buckingham of California, Debra Buckingham of Arlington, Wash.; one brother, Thomas J. Buckingham of Everett; and four grandchildren.

Kathryn Jeannette Rice

Kathryn Jeannette Rice, 89, of Henderson died Saturday in a local hospice. She was born Oct. 25, 1914, in Caldwell, Idaho. A resident for eight years, she was a retired teacher and a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution.

She is survived by three grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Monday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City. Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave., is handling arrangements.

Barbara Cleaver Tisner

Barbara Cleaver Tisner, 66, of San Pedro, Calif., died Monday in San Pedro. She was born in Los Angeles. A former Las Vegas resident, she was a Las Vegas High School graduate, a hairdresser and homemaker and co-founded and was president of Mothers of AIDS Patients.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 40 years, Tom Cleaver; and one son, Scott.

She is survived by her husband of four years, Herbert Tisner; one daughter, Gina Rodgers; three stepchildren; her father, Walter of Bullhead City, Ariz.; two granddaughters; and two step-grandchildren.

Fritzie Welan, 85, of Las Vegas died Thursday in a local hospital. She was born May 3, 1919, in New Haven, Conn. A resident for 22 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband, Bernie; one daughter, Lynne Levy of Marina del Rey, Calif.; one son, Brian Welan of Denton, Texas; and five grandchildren.
