VegasBeat — Timothy McDarrah: Hard Rock guests can take a whipping

The Hard Rock Hotel now offers dozens of sexual aids delivered right to your door.

Starting today, items from the hotel's naughty lingerie store, Love Jones, are just a phone call away for guests.

Among the items listed on the delivery menu are handcuffs covered in rabbit fur (in red or black) with a key ($40), a leather whip ($44), a black, crotchless butterfly lace body stocking ($21), a feather-trimmed babydoll nightie and matching G-string ($46) and a Kama Sutra Love Essentials Kit, with a variety of oils, powders and a handmade feather duster. The Kama Sutra package comes in a "tasteful gift box" and costs $35.

"Everything is spur of the moment when you come to Vegas and we didn't want our customers missing out on making their stay even more enjoyable," hotel exec Alissa Kelly told us.

"Guests love that we have a rock 'n' roll lingerie store on site," Kelly said. "They feel it's really a unique amenity -- adding room service delivery was just a way for us to cater to those guests who enjoy a little more privacy and convenience.

"It's all about customer service and offering products when guests need it most."

Bold face

Alphabetically, Samaire Armstrong, Eric Balfour, Lance Bass, Big Daddy Kane, DJ AM, Gary Dourdan, Doug E. Fresh, Jennifer Giminez, David Alan Grier, Dule Hill, Nicki Hilton, Paris Hilton, Chris Masterson, Danny Masterson, Dash Mihok, Bijou Phillips, Laura Prepon, Nicole Richie, Michael Rosenbaum, Henry Simmons, Kimberly Stewart, Dominique Swain, Eric Szmanda and Rick Yune are expected at the Stuff magazine Casino Weekend festivities at the Palms starting this evening.

On tap is a celebrity poker tourney, a Phat Farm fashion show and a performance by Steel Pulse.

Open, close

"M," the mariachi show that officially opened last month at the V Theatre inside Desert Passage (Aladdin), is closing Aug. 29.

Producer Rodri Rodriguez confirmed that the show is "in search of a new home that offers better traffic and that embraces the burgeoning Hispanic market in Las Vegas."

Have Faith

After her show at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace tonight, Faith Hill has a special meet-and-greet planned with an invited casino guest.

But it is not a high-roller or a celebrity.

Hill, a mother of three (with husband Tim McGraw), is meeting a 15-year-old girl named Courtney who lives in New Mexico. It is Courtney's wish to meet the singer.

Hill was contacted by the Make-A-Wish Foundation, and she immediately granted the request, said Jennifer Tuttle, the executive director of Make-A-Wish for Southern Nevada.

More 'Madhouse'

Hard Rock Hotel comedy headliner Jeff Beacher and Howard Stern's comic sidekick Artie Lange had dinner at Uncle Jack's Steakhouse in New York City the other night.

They ironed out Lange's next Vegas appearance -- two shows over Super Bowl weekend, Feb. 5-6.

CBS Sportsline is set to sign on as a sponsor of the football-themed weekend.

Based on everything else that has happened to Lange during his previous Vegas ventures (partying with mob turncoat Henry Hill at Spearmint Rhino and a report on a local TV station's Web site that he had died, collapsing onstage in an apparent alcohol-induced stupor), it is safe to assume that a wardrobe malfunction should be the least of what will happen that weekend.

Write stuff

"The Zen of Gambling" (Penguin Group/Jeremy P. Tarcher, $19.95), a new book by Henderson resident and TV sports prognosticator Wayne Allyn Root, hits stores nationwide Sept. 23.

"This book establishes me as the undisputed king of Las Vegas sports gambling," Root crowed via e-mail from his vacation home in Hawaii.

The book is part advice and part autobiography and focuses on Root's "holistic and spiritual Zen lifestyle."

Also on Sept. 23, Root tapes an episode of Dennis Miller's CNBC talk show for broadcast the next day.

Right again

On Feb. 5 we reported that the Tony Award-winning musical "Hairspray" was being considered for a Vegas production.

No one would then talk about it on the record, but now that "Avenue Q" and "Phantom of the Opera" are coming, "Hairspray" producers publicly say that Vegas is a real option for them.

Thursday in the New York Daily News, "Hairspray" producer Margo Lion says she "is considering tapping into the city's huge potential audience, the 36 million tourists who visit each year."

"It's obviously a thriving market," Lion said. "It's the fastest-growing city in America, and a lot of people could see the show there."

Face: Rodney Kettler, a bartender at Piero Selvaggio's Valentino (Venetian), is featured in the centerfold (fully dressed!) in a glossy Grey Goose vodka advertising insert brochure called "Tastemakers" in the latest issue of Vanity Fair. Top mixers from around the nation are included ...

Smile: Happiest guy at the Democratic presidential nominee John Kerry rally at the Thomas & Mack Center the other day appeared to be Tina Turner impersonator Larry Edwards (no relation to Kerry's running mate, John Edwards). He was bouncing around backstage, having his photo taken with everyone in the Kerry clan.

Horn evaluated: Nearly a year after being mauled by a tiger, illusionist Roy Horn was evaluated at a hospital in Englewood, Colo., that specializes in spinal cord and traumatic brain injury rehabilitation.

A spokesman for Horn declined to comment on how long Horn was expected to stay or what treatment he was receiving.

Kilborn to exit 'Late Show': After five years in late night, Craig Kilborn is exiting as host of CBS' "The Late, Late Show With Craig Kilborn."

A CBS spokesman confirmed late Thursday that Kilborn had informed the network that he would not seek a renewal of his contract, which is believed to expire this year.

CBS is not believed to have a replacement for Kilborn lined up for the show, which follows "Late Show With David Letterman" in the 12:35 a.m. time slot. Letterman's Worldwide Pants production banner has the right to produce the show in that time slot per Letterman's contract with CBS.

Eastwood settles: Clint Eastwood settled a libel lawsuit against the writer and publisher of a biography he said portrayed him as a wife abuser.

As part of the settlement, the book's author and publisher agreed to remove a reference to Eastwood beating his former wife, Maggie Eastwood, as well as other statements the actor-director said were false and defamatory.

A couple of Savages: Fred Savage, who starred on the 1980s series "The Wonder Years," married Jennifer Stone, a childhood friend, Saturday at the L'Orangerie restaurant in Los Angeles, People magazine reports.
