Film festival

The Hardrock Cafe hosts the nationally touring "Freedom Film Festival" today and Saturday at 4475 Paradise Road. All films are free, but tickets are required. For schedule information, call 733-8400 or go online to www.freedomfilmfestival.com.

'Ice Age'

The City of Las Vegas presents the family film "Ice Age" at 7 p.m. today at the Cimarron Rose Community Center, 5591 N. Cimarron Road. Admission is free. 229-1607.

Poets' corner

Beach party splash

The City of Las Vegas presents a beach party splash from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday at the Municipal Pool, 431 E. Bonanza Road. Admission is $3. 229-6309.

Book Fair

The Las Vegas Little Theatre will hold its first book fair from today to Saturday at 8915 W. Charleston Blvd. During that time, percentages of purchases will benefit the theater. 362-7996.

'Amazing Castle'

The traveling interactive exhibit, "The Amazing Castle," continues until Aug. 29 at the Lied Discovery Children's Museum, 833 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Admission is $6 adults, $5 children 1-17, seniors and military families. 382-3445.

Tai Chi classes

Free classes in the martial art Tai Chi will be taught from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. Tuesday at the District at Green Valley Ranch, near the intersection of Green Valley Parkway and Interstate 215. 851-3082.
