Rosemary McIntosh Coates

Rosemary McIntosh Coates, 84, of San Leandro, Calif., died June 25 in California. She was born Sept. 4, 1920, in Berkeley, Calif. A former Henderson resident, she worked for Titanium Metals, was a fourth grade teacher at Valley View Elementary (C.T. Sewell) and Park Village Elementary School, and prior to her retirement, she worked for IBM.

She is survived by three children, Heidi and Milo, both of San Francisco, and Ladd of Miles City, Mont.

No local services are scheduled. Neptune Society of Las Vegas, 8570 Del Webb Blvd.

Eugene W. Conner

Eugene W. Conner, 78, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. He was born April 4, 1927, in Bristow, Okla. A resident for 70 years, he was a Clark County School District maintenance worker and an Army veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Frieda; three sons, David, Erick and James; three daughters, Sylvia, Kathryn and Brenda; 23 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be 12:30 p.m. Saturday in Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North.

Leigh L. Craik

Leigh L. Craik, 51, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in a local hospital. He was born Aug. 12, 1953, in Fargo, N.D. A resident for 44 years, he was an automotive technician.

He is survived by his mother, Bette Craik, and Todd Craik, both of Las Vegas; and two sisters, Holli Pappas of Las Vegas and Lori Schnell of Detroit.

A memorial service will be 4 p.m. Saturday in Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd. Burial will be in Palm Valley View Memorial Park, 7600 S. Eastern Ave.

Eileen G. Desrochers

Eileen G. Desrochers, 60, of Las Vegas died Thursday in a local hospital. She was born Oct. 16, 1944, in Baltimore. A resident for 44 years, she was a floor supervisor.

She is survived by her husband, Raymond; two daughters, Kathleen Schaeffer and Denise Tatum, and one brother, George Bubnis, all of Las Vegas; and three grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 3-7 p.m. Sunday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Services will be 11 a.m. Monday in Palm Chapel, Eastern.

The family suggests donations to the Nathan Adelson Hospice, 4141 S. Swenson St., Las Vegas, NV 89119.

David G. Fletcher

David G. Fletcher, 47, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in a local hospital. He was born Sept. 11, 1957, at Kinley Air Force Base, Bermuda. A resident for 45 years, he was a college instructor.

He is survived by his wife, Dawn; and two daughters, Cullen Fletcher and Darrow Fletcher, both of Las Vegas.

A memorial service will be 3 p.m. Saturday in Affordable Cremation and Burial Service, 2457 N. Decatur Blvd.

J.C. Fuller

J.C. Fuller, 66, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in Las Vegas. He was born Aug. 27, 1938, in Arkansas. A resident for 42 years, he was a truck driver.

He is survived by his wife, Juanita; two sons, James Fuller and Randy Fuller, and two daughters, Angelia Fuller and Alicia South, all of Las Vegas; four stepsons, Adrin Lamb of Missouri and Emitt Lamb, Ricado Lamb and Erick Lamb, all of Las Vegas; three brothers, William Fuller of Las Vegas and Dewey Darrett and Jerry Darrett, both of Arkansas; one sister, Judy Tatum of Arkansas; 23 grandchildren; and three grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 3-6 p.m. Sunday in Thomas and Jones Funeral Home, 310 Foremaster Lane. Services will be 11 a.m. Monday in Second Baptist Church, 500 W. Madison Ave. Burial will be in Arkansas.

Robert Carl Holys

Robert Carl Holys, 63, of Henderson died Tuesday in a local hospital. He was born Feb. 23, 1942, in Chicago. A resident for 15 years, he was a retired Air Force sergeant and a Vietnam War veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Joyce A.; one daughter, Tracy Ann Holys, and one son, Richard John Holys, both of Las Vegas; one brother, Ronald Lee Holys of Henderson; and five grandchildren.

A memorial service will be 6 p.m. Saturday in Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson.

Avis Katz

Avis Katz, 88, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local care center. She was born June 27, 1917, in Brooklyn, N.Y. A resident for 14 years, she was a retired public school teacher, a life member of Hadassah and a member of the National Counsel of Teachers.

She is survived by two sons, Mark Katz of Las Vegas and Alan Katz of Somerset, Pa.; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Monday in Palm Valley View Memorial Park, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. King David Memorial Chapel and Cemetery, 2697 Eldorado Lane, is handling arrangements.

Jack Leonard

Jack Leonard, 92, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in a local hospital. He was born Aug. 22, 1912, in Brooklyn, N.Y. A resident for 40 years, he was a casino host.

Visitation is scheduled 10 a.m. until a noon service Sunday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Graveside services will follow in Palm Valley View Memorial Park.

Joe L. Mahoney

Joe L. Mahoney, 57, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. He was born Sept. 22, 1947, in Shreveport, La. A resident for five years, he was a supervisor of medical imaging and a Vietnam War Air Force veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Chonita; three sons, DeRon Porter, Rodney Preston and Brandon Mahoney; three daughters, Dionne Porter, Joette Mahoney and La'niese Mahoney; and five grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled two hours prior to a 1 p.m. service Saturday in Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd.

Bruce Mathis

Bruce Mathis, 64, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in a local hospital. He was born Oct. 26, 1940, in New Jersey. A resident for seven years, he was a retired sales representative and a Navy veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Susan; two daughters, Danielle Mathis of Dumfries, Va., and Dawn Kirkland of Las Vegas; one son, Robert Mathis of Las Vegas.

Visitation is scheduled 5-7 p.m. Sunday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Services will be 10 a.m. Monday in Palm Chapel, Eastern.

Donna Jean Novak

Donna Jean Novak, 58, of Las Vegas died Friday in a local hospice. She was born Oct. 3, 1946, in Illinois. A resident for many years, she was a leasing agent at a retirement community.

She is survived by her husband, "Sunny" Rodney; two sons, Neal and Dean; three brothers, Wayne, Forest and Bruce; and two grandchildren.

Helen Ortiz Ramirez

Helen Ortiz Ramirez, 52, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospital. She was born June 14, 1953, in Henderson. A resident for 52 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband, Steve Cintron; two daughters, Dolores "Lola" Ortiz and Joey Stephanie Cintron, and one brother, Mark Ortiz, all of Las Vegas; four sisters, Connie Goericke, Vicky DelaRosa and Patricia McCartney, all of Las Vegas, and Betty Dupuis of Henderson; and two grandchildren.

A memorial service will be 1 p.m. Saturday in Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson.

Margie Mae Reust

Margie Mae Reust, 67, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in a local hospice. She was born Jan. 28, 1938, in Craig, Colo. A resident for nine years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband, Rex R.; one son, Jack L. Reust of Knoxville, Tenn.; two daughters, J. Renee Thompson of Knoxville and Janelle R. Crisp of Aurora, Colo.; and seven grandchildren.

A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday in Canyon Ridge Christian Church, 6200 W. Lone Mountain Road. Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave., is handling arrangements.

Abraham 'Abbey' Steinhouse

Abraham "Abbey" Steinhouse, 89, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in a local health care center. A retired car rental company owner and a World War II Army veteran, he was born Jan. 4, 1916, in Brooklyn, N.Y.

He is survived by two sons, Mark Stuart Steinhouse and Barry Edward Steinhouse, both of Las Vegas; two grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Sunday in Palm Valley View Memorial Park. Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave., is handling arrangements.

Frank Surnock

Frank Surnock, 79, of Henderson died June 28 in a local health care center. A retired owner of a landscape company and a World War II Navy veteran, he was born Nov. 14, 1925, in Chicago.

He is survived by three daughters, Cheryl Sawyer of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Linda Scharfenstein and Elizabeth Kneifl, both of Lancaster, Calif.; one son, Richard Surnock of San Gabriel, Calif.; numerous grandchildren; and great-grandchildren.

Graveside services were scheduled at 1:20 p.m. today in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City. Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson, is handling arrangements.

Dorothy Mae Williams

Dorothy Mae Williams, 85, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospital. She was born Jan. 18, 1920, in Arkansas. A resident for 15 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by one nephew, Larry Federson.

Visitation is scheduled one hour prior to an 11 a.m. service Tuesday in Second Baptist Church, 500 W. Madison Ave. Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North, is handling arrangements.

Wayne Floyd Williams

Wayne Floyd Williams, 52, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. He was born Jan. 15, 1953, in California. A resident for 15 years, he was a convention worker and a Navy veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Theresa; two stepsons, Darryl Draughn and Dion Draughn; and three grandchildren.
