Despite shelling Fresno's rookie goaltender Joe Fallon with 28 shots, Las Vegas could not find the back of the net as the Falcons stymied the Wranglers 3-0 in front of 2,112 fans at Selland Arena Thursday night.
Fresno (16-8-1) winger Jarrett Konkle notched the first goal of the night in the final three minutes of the first period while the Falcons were shorthanded.
Konkle added another goal in the second period with a wrist shot that beat Wranglers goalie Kevin Lalande on the stick side. With less than two minutes remaining in the second period the Falcons struck again as defenseman J.C. Sawyer netted his first goal of the season during a power play.
The Wranglers (9-11-2) are now 3-9-1 on the road and will finish their current five-game road trip in Bakersfield on Saturday at noon at Rabobank Arena.
