Veterans' home to host variety show

The Nevada State Veterans Home will host two performances of "Glamorous!" by Re-Creation Nov. 7.

Re-Creation is a variety show production that performs across the country in military hospitals and veterans homes.

"Glamorous!" will feature hit songs from the 1930s to the present.

The performances will take place at 9 a.m. and 1 p.m., and admission is free.

BPO to host annual fundraising sale

The Benevolent Patriotic Order Drove No. 34 of the Does will hold their annual bake, book and craft sale from 8 a.m. until noon Nov. 15 at the Boulder City Elks Lodge, 1217 Nevada Highway.

The sale will feature bakes goods, handmade crafts and books.

Proceeds from the sale will help support local projects and scholarships.

Tickets for Santa Train rides go on sale

For the first time, the Nevada State Railroad Museum in Boulder City will sell tickets for the annual Santa Train in advance.

The Santa Train will run from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Dec. 6-7 and Dec. 13-14.

Tickets for the Santa Train are $2 a seat, payable in cash only, and can be purchased between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. Tuesdays through Fridays at the museum office and between 10 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays on the train platform.

ABC Park art center to host art project

The art center in ABC Park will hold Hands On, an art project with instructors, between noon and 3 p.m. Nov. 22.

Instructors will be on hand to assist in making clay hand prints, drop plates and splatter design bowls.

The cost is $5.

B.C. resident earns master's degree

Boulder City resident James A. McGibney has earned a master of criminal justice degree from Boston University.

Boston University is the fourth largest independent university in the United States, with an enrollment of more than 29,000 students at 17 schools and colleges.
