Expanded coverage
I spent nine years in Bonners Ferry, Idaho, setting up a shelter and establishing Second Chance Animal Adoptions. On one occasion we had a large brindle-colored shepherd mix we called Thunder.
He was very friendly and funny. One day, Thunder got away from a walk. Thunder did not come back that night. We were all worried.
The next morning, I went up to feed and clean and there was Thunder. He had gone out to the mission about six miles from the pound and brought back two friends — Sampson, another large shepherd mix, and Henry, a short-haired "Heinz" dog! They were all wagging their tails waiting to be fed and walked. These dogs were eventually adopted into forever special homes.
