Senior Associate Athletics Director Jerry Koloskie — who had been UNLV's acting AD in the wake of Mike Hamrick's departure last month — was named interim athletics director on Thursday morning.
UNLV President Neal Smatresk plans a formal process to find Hamrick's permanent successor.
Koloskie has worked in the athletics department for 26 years, serving in his senior associate AD post for the last 10 years. His responsibilities have included overseeing all internal functions and working as the sport administrator for men's and women's basketball, track and field, cross country and baseball. He also ran the daily operations of UNLV's athletics training, strength and conditioning and athletics equipment departments.
