Las Vegas is filled with cultural treasures, but many of them are hidden. Take, for example, guitarist Ricardo Cobo. The Colombian-born virtuoso, who debuted at age 17 with the Orquesta Filarmonica de Bogota, became an award-winning, internationally acclaimed classical guitarist, and toured nonstop for years before settling in Las Vegas in 2000.

Some locals complain, however, that we don't get to see the former New York resident perform enough in Las Vegas.

No complaints this weekend: Showing love for Latin American composers, Cobo will perform arrangements by Astor Piazzolla, Antonio Lauro, Ignacio Figueredo and Agustin Barrios, April 23 at UNLV. It's the final concert of UNLV's 2010 Classical Guitar Series, which also features soloist and composer Christopher McGuire, who is artistic director of the Fort Worth Classic Guitar Society and the Allegro Guitar Society of Dallas.
