Approximate area of crash
The Clark County Coroner's Office has identified the second driver killed in a collision Saturday morning on Interstate 215 in Henderson as 37-year-old Samuel Baum of Henderson.
Officials on Tuesday identified the first victim as 21-year-old Abigail Gallegos of Las Vegas. Both died of multiple traumatic injuries as a result of the crash and were pronounced dead at the scene.
Nevada Highway Patrol troopers responded at about 3:30 a.m. to the crash near the Gibson Road interchange. Gallegos was traveling westbound in the eastbound lanes of I-215, causing the head-on collision, NHP spokesman Joseph Fackrell said on Wednesday.
Gallegos was driving a Pontiac and Baum was driving a Cadillac. Neither vehicle had passengers.
