I read with disbelief David Broder’s column, published in Friday’s Las Vegas Sun, “Handling of crisis shows Napolitano’s grace, smarts.”
Does this man live on a different planet? As much as he may like Janet Napolitano as a person, he has to be aware of her inadequacies in the position she currently holds. To ignore her misspoken remarks on a number of occasions — be it illegal aliens or national security — she appears to be the wrong person in the wrong job.
She may have been a passably effective governor of Arizona, but she is not even passably effective in her current position, and to say her potential is unlimited is frightening — unless meaning her ability to do damage.
I can only hope that he wrote this piece in jest.
I suspect that in a betting town like Las Vegas, a number of people are betting on how soon before we see her letter of resignation.
