So, we didn’t score the first interview with the 25-year-old man who will go down in history as America’s first legal male prostitute (text book publishers, start your revisions).
No matter. The folks at Details were waiting for “Markus” when Greyhound dropped him off for work at the Shady Lady Ranch on Tuesday. The former Marine admits he doesn’t have much sexual experience (beyond a few porn scenes, of course), but had a lot to say about his new “craft” and the qualifications for becoming a successful gigolo.
“He must have the heart of a saint, the mind of a philosopher, and the skills of the devil,” Markus told Details.
Markus also is well aware that he’ll be taking a place in history when he takes his first client ($200 for 40 minutes) at Shady Lady. In fact, he’s even angling for a mention in an Outkast song.
“It's more of a civil rights thing now,” Markus said in the interview. “Basically this is the first time in the economy of the United States that a male has actually stood up and said, ‘I want to do this for a living.’ And be protected under law to do it. It's just the same as when Rosa Parks decided to sit at the front instead of the back. She was proclaiming her rights as a disadvantaged, African-American older woman. And I'm doing the same. I'm actually standing up now, and hopefully I can be supported by the male community and be understood as a person. This actually isn't about selling my body. This is about changing social norms.”
