Passenger traffic at McCarran International Airport last month was down 6.2 percent compared to February 2009, airport officials said today.
The airport reported that 2,848,833 passengers arrived at or departed from the airport last month. That's down from 3,036,715 passengers a year earlier.
The number of passengers traveling through the airport for the first two months of the year is down 3.2 percent compared to a year earlier, from 6,057,782 to 5,864,201.
Southwest Airlines, the busiest carrier at McCarran, saw a 3.2 percent decrease in passengers in February compared to a year earlier.
The second-busiest carrier, United, saw a 5.2 percent decline. US Airways, which has cut jobs at McCarran and trimmed its flight schedule, came in third with a decline of 52 percent.
