Friday night’s game against Sierra Vista marked the end of an era for Bonanza.

Senior quarterback Sterling Sprau and senior running back DaSean Martin, two stars for the Bengals for the past three years, played in their final game.

They went out on top as Bonanza routed Sierra Vista, 48-18.

“Those two kids are great examples of what high school players should be,” Bonanza coach Shawn Dupris said. “They are great role models and they do it the right way. That is what we expect.”

Martin had four rushing touchdowns. Sprau both rushed and passed for a score. Bonanza finished the year 5-5.

“We got to .500, so it was good to go out on a positive,” Dupris said. “It can give the younger guys something to build on.”
