Christian Rodriguez rushed for 116 yards and two touchdowns on nine carries Thursday in leading the Arbor View High football team to a 49-20 victory against host Mojave.
It was the Aggies fourth straight win. Even though two of the wins came against struggling teams — Rancho and Valley — Arbor View coach Dan Barnson is cautiously optimistic about his young squad.
“We are just taking it one game at a time,” Barnson said.
“Did it help playing Rancho and Valley? I don’t know and I don’t know if the kids really know.”
Junior Donnie Gaskin added 91 yards and a touchdown on 15 carries, and sophomore quarterback Henry Hoffend completed 5 of 7 passes with two touchdowns.
“It is one of those things were are kids come out and work hard everyday to get better,” Barnson said.
