Metro Police released the mugshot today of hip-hop performer Bruno Mars, who was arrested Sunday at the Hard Rock Hotel for allegedly possessing cocaine.
According to an arrest report, police responded at about 1:50 a.m. Sunday to the Hard Rock Hotel after a bathroom attendant saw Peter Hernandez, known as Bruno Mars, “taking a really long time” in a bathroom stall, possibly using drugs. The attendant informed hotel security, who found Hernandez and asked him to hand over whatever narcotics he had on him.
Security placed Hernandez in a holding cell after he gave up 2.6 grams of a “white powdery substance” believed to be cocaine, police said.
When Metro arrived at the scene, Hernandez admitted he did “a foolish thing” and said he had never used drugs before. Police arrested Hernandez in connection with possession of cocaine and booked him into the Clark County Detention Center. He was released at 7:45 a.m. Sunday.
On his Twitter feed Saturday night he urged fans to come see him at the Hard Rock Hotel. His hit single "Just The Way You Are" is No. 3 on Billboard.com's Hot 100 songs, which ranks the most popular songs across all genres based on radio airplay.
