Lady Gaga performs at MGM Grand Garden Arena on Aug. 13, 2010.

Misguided lady “Don’t ask, don’t tell” is ridiculous, but Lady Gaga’s attack on soldiers in her us-versus-them diatribe misses the point. It’s not the soldiers. It’s the politicians who use the issue to rev up right-wing constituents. — Kristen Peterson, staff writer

Iced tea Apparently the Tea Party’s not crazy about Las Vegas. After postponing a convention from July to October, Tea Party Nation has again canceled. Is it our breath? — Ken Miller, associate editor

Coffee, tea or pb&J? Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf now owns our seven local Jamba Juice locations. As long as fave secret-menu item the PB&J smoothie stays, consider me part of the Juice Club customer appreciation program. — April Corbin, web content editor

Private party? Jay-Z and Coldplay to play invite-only Cosmopolitan New Year’s bash? At least both have been here recently. If they’d booked, say, Vegas-phobic Radiohead, there’d be an alt-rock riot goin’ on over there. — Spencer Patterson, managing editor

Cher wear As the woman who chirped “Dark Lady” herself goes dark at the Colosseum on February 5, I’ll miss the costume changes mostly. People would ask, “What was she wearing?” Everything but a meat dress. — John Katsilometes, contributing writer
