Sugar Factory's Miracle Mile Shops location has an added bonus for glucose aficionados: a second counter that offers milkshakes, sundaes and gelato. Among the favorite milkshakes are the Blueberry Pancake, with vanilla gelato, fresh blueberries, maple syrup and a glazed donut, and the Barbie, with fresh strawberries, gelato, marshmallows, whipped cream and pink rock-candy crumbles.

When Oprah Winfrey or Kim Kardashian needs a gift basket full of candy treats, they call on Karen Silva, manager and gifting specialist for Sugar Factory, a retail candy store with locations at The Mirage and Miracle Mile Shops at Planet Hollywood Resort, plus a soon-to-open location at Paris Las Vegas.

"They have our Couture lollipops, their favorite candies, and they can pick whatever they want to go in them," Silva said of the baskets.

Usually a celebrity will have an assistant get in touch with the company, but sometimes a sugar fix just can't wait. A few weeks ago, Holly Madison showed up in the store unannounced to pick up chocolate-covered cinnamon gummy bears. Silva, who moved from Hawaii a year and a half ago and originally joined Sugar Factory as a Candy Girl model, counts the store's red velvet brownies as one of her favorites.

Seeing Britney Spears, who stopped by the Mirage location to buy Couture Pops for her dancers, was a huge shock for Silva, but she says that "> The Fast and the Furious" actor Paul Walker would be her dream customer. (She even offered the "Sugar Rush" as a possible name for a Walker-themed pop.)

"I think candy fits every occasion," Silva said, remembering back to a busy last Christmas when the team stayed until 5 a.m. filling orders. "It's a hit for everybody."
