The Bureau of Land Management is seeking public comment on a proposal to sell a five-acre parcel of public land in Henderson.

The parcel, located at Executive Airport Drive and Via Inspirada near the Henderson Executive Airport, may be sold under the Southern Nevada Public Land Management Act. The 45-day public comment period will end May 19.

The BLM proposal would offer the parcel at fair market value, determined by an appraiser by April 11. BLM expects to sell the land using a competitive sealed bid process on June 1.

Sealed bids may be mailed or delivered to the BLM Las Vegas field office from May 2 to 25. The bid opening will be held at 10 a.m. June 1.

The funds generated by the sale will be used to fund the development of parks, trails and natural areas, capital improvements on federal lands, acquisition of environmentally sensitive land and Lake Tahoe restoration projects.

Five percent of the revenue will go to the State of Nevada General Education Fund, and 10 percent to the Southern Nevada Water Authority.

Written comments should be addressed to BLM, Las Vegas Field Office Manager, 4701 N. Torrey Pines Drive, Las Vegas, NV 89130, or by email to [email protected].

Comments will be made available to the public so personal information such as address, phone numbers, and email address may be withheld.

For more information about the sale and bidding process, call Jill Pickren, BLM realty specialist at 702-515-5194.
