Three outdoor outings to check out this spring

Clark County Fair and Rodeo

Leila Navidi

The Clark County Fair and Rodeo is only one outdoor event going on in Southern Nevada this weekend.

Living in the desert, it’s easy to forget there are actually four seasons. We feel the scorching heat of summer and the overnight chill of winter, but as for spring, well, we’re currently experiencing the two weeks we’ll get of that. Might as well head out this weekend for these fun and family-friendly outdoor events.

•Celebrating 46 years of tradition in Southern Nevada, the Clark County Fair and Rodeo rolls into Logandale April 7-10. View the exhibits, enjoy the live music and cheer on your favorite swine in the fair’s pig races!

•The city of Las Vegas invites the Valley to Floyd Lamb Park on April 9 for its Spring Celebration. Ring in spring with games, amusement rides and line dancing or check out the fare from the farmers’ market and barbecue vendors.

•Have a good time for a good cause April 7-10 at Town Square’s Lili Claire Spring Fling. The event, which benefits autism awareness, features rides, games and a rock-climbing wall.

Whatever you do, do it soon. It won’t be long till we’ll be sweating in our skivvies.
