“Since school track breaks were eliminated, this is the first time that all kids will be out of school for the entire summer,” Xanie Gann, recreation services supervisor, said in a statement. “As a result, demand has increased for summer camps, and that’s why we’ve opted to expand our summer programs to meet the needs of working families.”

Residents can register their children at any city recreation center, or online by going to www.cityofhenderson.com and typing “summer camps” in the search box. Space may be limited at some locations so early enrollment is recommended. Parents may reserve their child’s place in the program with a $20 deposit per family per week.
