Talkin’ food with … Paul Oakenfold?!

Paul Oakenfold

Paul Oakenfold, chef?

Is it true you originally planned to be a chef?

Yes, I did set out to be a chef, basically because I love the idea of being creative with food and in the kitchen.

What does your kitchen need to have in it?

A good set of knives and access to all the freshest ingredients.

Given all your touring and producing, how often do you get the chance to cook?

Not as often as I’d like to, but I’m always trying new restaurants around the world, so that compensates for it.

Favorite cuisine?

Italian.

Any foods you dislike?

I’m not a lover of spicy foods.

Calendar

An Afternoon Cooking Class with Chef Geno and Paul Oakenfold
April 30, noon, $75.
Nove Italiano
Inside the Palms, 942-6800

Strangest dish you’ve ever tried?

I’d say sea urchin.

Must-go Las Vegas eatery when you’re here for your Palms Perfecto residency?

Nove Italiano.

Do you ever snack in the DJ booth?

I don’t snack at all in the DJ booth, but I always have an ample supply of fluids, bottled water to keep hydrated and a Ketel One and tonic if I’m in the mood for a cocktail.
