The Clark County Coroner’s Office today identified a 61-year-old motorcyclist who died Wednesday night after crashing into a block wall in the eastern valley as James Zaro, of Las Vegas.

The coroner’s office said Zaro died of multiple injuries due to the motorcycle accident.

Metro Police said Zaro was eastbound on Reno Avenue, west of Pearl Street, at about 10:18 p.m. when the collision occurred. That location is near the intersection of Tropicana Avenue and Pecos Road.

Authorities said the motorcycle, a 2001 Suzuki Intruder, failed to maintain its travel lane and drove off the left side of the roadway, striking the wall, police said. Zaro was thrown off the motorcycle. He was taken to Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center’s trauma unit, where he was pronounced dead.

This was the 25th traffic fatality in Metro’s jurisdiction this year.
