Concerning J. Patrick Coolican’s Thursday column and his view of the trump card played by President Barack Obama, in a so-called devious scheme to win again in 2012, I must disagree.
Coolican doesn’t know from deviousness (East Coast talk). For real insidious deviousness, how about the following: Barack Obama is a Republican mole planted years ago, probably during his college years in California, as a sleeper cell (of one) who would be activated (maybe by the Queen of Diamonds) if and when he was enabled to run for president.
He would then appear to be a progressive lefty promising, for instance, that he would close Gitmo, end the George W. Bush-era tax cuts and pass a single-payer health plan. As we know now, he has fallen far short of those and other promises.
One could go on, but I think I have out-devioused Coolican, just to show that one can take a few facts and make lies out of them. It’s possible that some of the far-right nuts might even adopt his and my crazy scheme, believing that they’re true. Unfortunately.
