A 19-year-old man has been arrested in the stabbing death of a juvenile during a fight Tuesday night on Boulder Highway, Metro Police said.

The suspect, Charles Bernard Smith, was booked into the Clark County Detention Center without bail on counts of murder with a deadly weapon and probation violation, police said. A court hearing is scheduled for later this week.

According to Metro, officers responded to the 5500 block of Boulder Highway about 10:15 p.m. and found a juvenile male suffering from stab wounds. He was taken to Sunrise Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

Police said an altercation between two groups of people became physical, and during the fight, the victim was stabbed. Smith was located nearby, police said.

The identity of the victim will be released later by the Clark County coroner’s office.

Metro Police spokesman officer Bill Cassell said the investigation is ongoing.
