A hiker died Thursday morning after he fell 60 feet from a trail on Mount Charleston Thursday morning.
Metro spokesman Bill Cassell said authorities received a call at 10:49 a.m. indicating that a male had fallen from a hiking trail. The initial reports suggest the hiker fell 60 feet, but authorities have not confirmed that distance.
The incident happened near the Big Falls area on Mount Charleston when the male was possibly hiking with two other people.
Fire personnel were able to reach the hiker and confirmed that he had died.
The Clark County Coroner will release further information and the identity of the hiker.
