Hear ye, hear ye! The Knights of the Round Table are calling for more lieges.

The city of Henderson, in partnership with the Missoula Children’s Theatre, will hold two open auditions for its production of "King Arthur’s Quest" happening later this month.

Children in kindergarten through 12th grade are invited to audition for spots in the musical, which follows King Arthur on a journey through medieval England.

King Arthur, joined by Guinevere, Merlin and Lancelot, will face dragons, sorcerers and knights in an original production of the historical fairytale.

The first audition will take place this afternoon at the Henderson Convention Center, and the second on March 14 at the Henderson Multigenerational Center. Interested children must register with a parent or guardian between 3 and 4 p.m. on both days. Auditions will start at 4 p.m.

The Missoula Children’s Theatre is the nation’s largest touring children’s theatre. The group has traveled around the world for nearly four decades, performing Broadway musicals, comedies and original children’s productions of classic fairytales and stories.

Four performances of "King Arthur’s Quest" are scheduled.

The first two will take place at 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. March 12 at the Henderson Convention Center, 200 S. Water St. Additional performances are the following Saturday, at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m., at the Henderson Multigenerational Center, 250 S. Green Valley Parkway.

Tickets are $5 for children and seniors, and $8 for adults. They may be purchased with cash or check at the door.

“We’re thrilled to continue our long-standing relationship with the Missoula Children’s Theatre people,” Director of the Cultural Arts and Tourism Department Andrea Primo said in a statement. “The group has expressed the importance of arts education amongst our youth through performing arts opportunities and workshops for the past 24 years.”
