RTC accepting student art entries for Earth Day bus contest

Clark County students have a chance to see their artwork publicly displayed on a large scale.

The Regional Transportation Commission is sponsoring another art contest and the two top entries will be featured on the outside of a bus for up to a year.

The Earth Day art contest is to promote the RTC’s sustainability initiative: “Quicker, cleaner, greener.”

The contest is open to all sixth- through 12th- grade students in the county. Art should be focused on how RTC services promote healthy lifestyles, clean air and sustainability.

The winners will be announced at a special Earth Day event April 27.

The RTC sponsored a similar contest for Earth Day last year and recently announced the winners of a similar anti-graffiti contest.

Colorful artwork should be submitted in a horizontal format on 11” x 17” paper. Entries in black and white or using photography or glitter will not be accepted.

The deadline for the contest is March 21. Artwork should be delivered the RTC offices at 600 South Grand Central Parkway, Suite 350, Las Vegas, NV 89106, attention Mary Polidoro.

More information and entry forms are available on the RTC’s website.
