Las Vegas tops list of places job recovery has failed

At this point, it doesn’t come as a surprise but rather as a grim reminder.

According to the Business Insider, Las Vegas tops the list of 11 metropolitan areas where job recovery has failed.

Using data provided by Citi, Business Insider reports that 10,000 Las Vegas jobs were lost last year.

“The retail sector shed the most jobs after the holidays, leisure and hospitality took a hit and so did construction. The gaming industry is still struggling to rebound which is not helping job growth,” the report says.

Following Las Vegas are Newark, N.J., San Francisco, Atlanta, Riverside, Calif., Los Angeles, Minneapolis, Phoenix, Long Island, N.Y., Miami and Boston.
