Governor signs two bills to reduce paperwork

CARSON CITY – Gov. Brian Sandoval has signed two bills to reduce paperwork in state government.

Assembly Bill 127 will eliminate the requirement that staff of the Legislature prepare books of printed bills, resolutions, journals and histories. The information will now be available online.

Sandoval praised Assembly Speaker John Oceguera, D-Las Vegas, for introducing the bill. He said Nevada will join 17 other states in instituting paperless systems.

The governor also signed Assembly Bill 15 to eliminate the requirement to produce a statistical abstract and the Biennial Report. Sandoval said this information, sought by the state budget office, will combine the data into one publication.
