County firefighters shuttle in water to battle blaze

Clark County fire crews fought a garage fire in the southwest tonight using water shuttled from a hydrant a mile away from scene.

According to Clark County officials, the fire started around 7 p.m. at 10360 West Agate Ave., near Blue Diamond Road and Hua La Pai Way.

Because the home is located in a rural area of the valley, the nearest fire hydrant was more than a mile away, officials said.

Around 43 people were on scene fighting the fire, which took 45 minutes to extinguish, officials said.

The home was empty at the time of the fire, officials said. No injuries were reported.
