The city budget is the only item on the agenda for a special meeting of the North Las Vegas City Council this afternoon.
Council members will receive an update on the city’s financial position for the coming fiscal year and a review of unaudited financials for the current fiscal year.
The City Council will also discuss possible actions to address future budget shortfalls, acting Finance Director Al Noyola said.
This year, the city faced a $30.3 million shortfall that prompted layoffs and dramatically reduced city staffing levels. The state Department of Taxation still has a watchful eye on the city.
The meeting is at 4:30 p.m. in the council chambers at the North Las Vegas City Hall, 2200 Civic Center Drive.
