Letter to the editor:

All wage earners should pay more

Instead of complaining that the top income earners don’t pay their fair share, shouldn’t we be thanking them for paying the 40 percent of income tax revenues they do pay? I make nothing like the income required to qualify for the tax rate increase, but I am grateful to the rich who have created so many jobs. The Solyndra loan is the poster child for Obama investments.

Our president wants everyone to pay their “fair share.” Since more than 40 percent of wage earners pay no income tax, shouldn’t they be required to share in the pain? A minimal amount paid by this group would raise more revenue than increasing the rates on the rich and would be true to his word about a “balanced solution.”
