If your idea of Easter ham is Spam or you just don’t remember how your grandmother made her famous matzo ball soup, just give up and go out. Las Vegas restaurants are putting on quite the spread for both Easter and Passover meals this weekend. There are also many fun Easter family events, from egg hunts to photos with the Easter Bunny. Read on to plan your holiday weekend.

Ethel M is celebrating with festive egg-shaped boxes filled with a peanut butter or fruit truffle assortment.
Payard Patisserie celebrates the holiday with an assorted collection of Easter eggs and Easter bunnies. For the first time, the shop is making a line of eggs in cheetah and zebra print containing dark, milk and white chocolate.
Sugar Factory will have an assortment of holiday baskets, including the Little Peeps Box, Easter Sweet Treat Tower, the Hoppy Easter Gourmet basket and the Easter Bling Bucket. Prices range from $22.95 to $160 for Peter’s VIP basket, which includes marshmallow Peeps, a bunny vanilla sugar cookie, salt water taffy, an Easter character lollipop, peanut butter toffee popcorn, jumbo swirl lollipop, marshmallow kabobs, aquamarine Couture Pop, a milk chocolate bunny and more.
Sees’s Candies celebrates the holiday with the Bordeaux egg filled with brown sugar butter cream covered in milk chocolate and topped with chocolate sprinkles. Annual Easter Egg Hunt: First Henderson United Methodist Church hosts its Annual Easter Egg Hunt for ages up to 11. There will be a special toddler area for those under 4 years old. The courtyard will be transformed into an Easter EGGstravaganza, with more than 1,000 eggs ready for hunting.
Hop & Shop: Easter Egg Hunt and Family Festival: Families can visit Town Square for a free Hop & Shop Easter event with a variety of activities for children to enjoy. Free Easter egg hunts take place every half hour for children ages 1 to 10 years old from 10 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. in Town Square Park. Egg hunt registration begins at 9 a.m. and is required for participation. The Easter Bunny will be on hand for photos. Please have children bring their own baskets to carry their treats.
Easter Seals Walk With Me fundraiser: Easter Seals Nevada hosts the fourth annual Walk With Me event, a fun-filled, two-mile walk and Easter carnival for the whole family to benefit more than 6,000 Nevadans living with disabilities. This year’s event will also feature a special performance by School of Rock, the local chapter of the music school inspiring kids to rock on stage and in life. The event kicks off at 9 a.m. with speeches by Brian Patchett, president and CEO of Easter Seals Nevada, and families served by the organization. At 9:30 a.m., the walk begins and all participants will have the opportunity to meet and walk with Easter Seals’ 2012 Honorary Ambassadors – individuals who have directly benefited from the support received through Easter Seals’ programs. This year more than 500 people are expected to walk for disability awareness. At 10:15 a.m., for just $5, children can participate in Easter Seals Nevada’s Easter Carnival featuring an Easter egg hunt, photos with the Easter Bunny, activities for the family, food, music and more.
Palm Eastern Mortuary Sunrise Service: Palm Eastern Mortuary and Cemetery will host its annual Easter Sunrise Service in honor of Resurrection Day. On Sunday, Las Vegas residents and guests will be able to celebrate during the spiritually uplifting outdoor celebration to be held in the beautiful Palm Eastern Cemetery. Starting at 6:30 a.m., the family-friendly event will feature an inspirational message delivered by the Rev. Leo Wood, a dove release, live entertainment, a complimentary continental breakfast, as well as a special appearance from the Easter Bunny. Music will be provided by the Desert Chorale, a 45-voice, nonprofit, community chorus, musician Larry Walker and an array of local soloists, including Mary Kay Mendenhall, Casey Moore, Bill Walker and Genevieve Dew. The service will be inter-denominational.
Ethel M's Spring Spectacular Weekend: Ethel M Chocolates invites families to its chocolate factory and botanical cactus garden for the annual Spring Spectacular Weekend April 6-8. The three days of family-friendly festivities are free and open to the public. From 1-5 p.m. on Friday, April 6, enjoy photos with the Easter bunny, face painters and balloon artists. These activities will continue throughout the weekend. From noon until 5 p.m. on Saturday, April 7, Ethel M partners with local organization Opportunity Village, for a spring Art Walk. Guests are invited to stroll through the scenic three-acre botanical cactus garden and view original artwork created by individuals with disabilities at Opportunity Village. All pieces on display will be available for purchase with proceeds benefiting Opportunity Village. The party continues from 1-5 p.m. on Saturday, April 8.
Egg Dive: Desert Breeze Water Park hosts its first Egg Dive. Children can also participate in crafts and games. Both weighted and floating eggs will fill the shallow pool and a special prize will be given based on who gets a special egg per age group. EggStravaganza: Join the Easter Bunny and celebrate the arrival of spring as the Springs Preserve hosts the family-friendly EggStravaganza celebration including festive spring-inspired activities like an egg scavenger hunt (for children 6 and over), egg hunt (for children 5 and under), bunny petting pen, pictures with the Easter Bunny, face painting, arts and crafts, food, live entertainment and much more.

The park is located six miles from Lake Mead and 55 miles northeast of Las Vegas via Interstate 15 off of exit 75.
Spring Garden Party: Village Square hosts its first annual Spring Garden Party for the community. The celebration will include an Eggstravaganza Hunt, bunny farm, face painting, photos with the Easter Bunny, and a Basket Bonanza for children and adults to enjoy. The bunny petting zoo area will include a large spring garden party display featuring the Easter Bunny and fun photo cutouts. One complimentary photo will be provided to each family.

The Rampart Buffet will offer a special Easter buffet menu April 8 from 9:30 a.m. until 9 p.m., priced at $18.99 or $16.99 with a Rampart Rewards card. The Summerlin Community Church in conjunction with Friends of Israel offers a seder for the community. Elements of the meal will be explained as food is served to give a greater understanding of the Jewish holiday. The event is free but a freewill offering will be collected.
The Feast and Festival Buffets at Station Casinos and Fiesta properties will celebrate Passover with traditional Jewish foods in addition to their normal offerings. Enjoy brisket, charoset, matzah brei, potato latkes and beet horseradish. The special menu will be served all day on April 6 and 7.
The Rampart Buffet will offer a special Passover buffet menu April 6 and 7 from 4-9 p.m., priced at $18.99 or $16.99 with a Rampart Rewards card. The menu includes chopped chicken liver, whitefish salad, matzo ball soup, braised beef short ribs, potato knishes, lox, kasha varnishkas, brisket, turkey, prime rib, leg of lamb and baked salmon.
