Strong demand for fresh, locally grown produce has fueled the growth of farmers markets throughout the Las Vegas Valley.
New markets continue to open up, while existing markets expand their hours to keep up with the demand, giving residents access to locally grown foods almost any day of the week.
The weekly farmers market frenzy kicks off with the Las Vegas Farmers Market at Gardens Park, 10401 Gardens Park Drive.
The market — which offers fresh fruits, vegetables and homemade baked breads — runs from 4 to 8 p.m.
The second edition of the Las Vegas Farmers Market takes place on Wednesdays from 4 to 8 p.m. at Bruce Trent Park, 1600 N. Rampart Blvd.
The Bet on the Farm farmers market recently expanded its hours and takes place every Thursday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Springs Preserve, 333 S. Valley View Blvd.
In downtown Henderson, the Country Fresh Farmers Market sets up in front of Henderson City Hall from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
For the later crowd, Fresh52 hosts the Tivoli Taste & Toast, which includes a farmers market and chef demonstration, from 5 to 8 p.m. at Tivoli Village, 302 S. Rampart Blvd.
The valley’s newest farmers market, the Downtown3rd, sets up shop in downtown Las Vegas every Friday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Third Street between Stewart Avenue and Ogden Avenue.
The Country Fresh Farmers Market holds its second market of the week from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Henderson Pavillion, 200 S. Green Valley Parkway.
Fresh52 returns to Tivoli Village for its Saturday market, which runs from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The Las Vegas Farmers Market is held on the first and third Saturday of each month from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Tule Springs, 9100 Tule Springs Road.
Bountiful Baskets offers a different way for local shoppers to acquire fresh produce. The program allows residents to pre-order a basket of fresh produce, which can then be picked up Saturday mornings at one of the cooperative’s many sites across the valley.
The Fresh52 farmers market at Sansone Park Place, 9480 S. Eastern Ave., runs from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m every Sunday, wrapping up the weekly farmers market calendar.
