Coroner identifies quarry accident victim

The Las Vegas man who died Friday in an industrial accident at Sloan Quarry has been identified by the Clark County Coroner’s Office.

Las Vegas resident Anthony Holden, 29, died from injuries in the accident at the quarry, 5300 Sloan Road, about 10 miles south of Las Vegas, the Coroner’s Office said Monday. A representative of Aggregate Industries, a construction-based materials company that owns Southern Nevada Paving, confirmed the man was an employee.

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration is investigating the incident, a process that can take up to six months, said Teri Williams, a public information officer for OSHA.
