It’s no miracle, or even a surprise, that the star of "Flavor of Love" would have his fried chicken served by women wearing cheerleader outfits on the Las Vegas Strip.
But that's what's coming next week, as rap icon and omnipresent Las Vegas celebrity Flavor Flav takes food from his House of Flavor restaurant to Blondies Sports Bar,, located at the Miracle Mile Shops inside Planet Hollywood.
Starting Monday, Blondies customers will be able to order Flavor Flav's fried chicken and ribs, which are becoming as much a signature for the 53-year-old Public Enemy star as the large clock around his neck. Blondies will also be adding Flav's red velvet waffles to its menu.
"Flavor of Love" became one of the top shows on cable television as a parody of dating programs like "The Bachelor" where the rapper romanced women more than 20 years his junior.
But his 2011 entry into the restaurant business brought him back to his pre-rap roots. He grew up William Jonathan Drayton, the son of a restaurateur, in Freeport, N.Y., and graduated culinary school in 1978. A resident of Las Vegas, Flav opened his"House of Flavor in March.
