Radio City Pizzeria is about to become the next new pizza joint to open downtown.
It won’t be the last.
Standing outside the plywood walls covering the interior of his new leased space at 508 Fremont St., Radio City Pizzeria owner Elias Ghanem II said he had tentatively scheduled a soft opening for the day after Christmas.
The place is directly across the street from Uncle Joe’s Pizza, a longtime Fremont Street inhabitant. It also joins Pop Up Pizza, which opened earlier this year in the Plaza Hotel & Casino, six blocks to the west.
The downtown location is Radio City's second go-round in the valley. The pizzeria previously been in business in Tivoli Village at Queensridge.
Next year, Slice Perfect, an organic pizza place with New York origins, is expected to open on the first floor of The Ogden, at Ogden Avenue and Las Vegas Boulevard.
Joe Schoenmann doesn’t just cover downtown, he lives and works there. Schoenmann is Greenspun Media Group’s embedded downtown journalist, working from an office in the Emergency Arts complex.
