Fire causes $20,000 damage at northeast apartment complex

An early morning fire at a northeast valley apartment complex caused $20,000 damage but no injuries, the Clark County Fire Department said.

Firefighters responded about 1:05 a.m. to the blaze at a two-story apartment building at 4733 Lucite Lane, near Craig Road and Nellis Boulevard.

The fire started in a first-floor bedroom and spread through the ventilation system into the building’s attic, fire officials said. Firefighters prevented it from spreading to other apartments, officials said.

The resident of the apartment was not home at the time of the fire, and there were no injuries. The cause of the fire is under investigation, officials said.
