Willow Creek Assisted Living Center

A small fire at the Willow Creek Assisted Living Center in the northwest valley sent one person to the hospital with minor injuries Monday morning, Las Vegas Fire and Rescue officials said.

Firefighters responded shortly before 11 a.m. to the blaze at 3890 N. Buffalo Drive, near Alexander Road, officials said.

Firefighters found the fire had been put out by an automatic sprinkler in a kitchen area, fire department spokesman Tim Szymanski said.

One burn victim was transported to University Medical Center with injuries not considered life threatening, Szymanski said. No further details were available about the victim.

Damage from the fire was minimal, Szymanski said. Investigators have not determined what caused the fire.
