A fire at a strip mall Sunday afternoon near Revere Street and Lake Mead Boulevard damaged the building’s attic, but no one was injured, according to Las Vegas Fire and Rescue officials.

Fire spokesman Tim Szymanski said authorities received a call at 3:11 p.m. reporting the small blaze at 2027 Revere St.

Witnesses and employees of several businesses, including a general contractor’s office, church and hair salon, noticed smoke coming from an overhang above a sidewalk, Syzmanski said.

Everyone inside the businesses escaped safely, he said.

Firefighters arrived to find heavy smoke pouring from the roof and a small fire, Szymanski said. Damage was contained to an attic area above the businesses, he said.

Fire investigators determined the blaze was electrical in nature, officials said. They estimated damage to be $70,000.
