A woman who died after being hit by a truck Saturday morning while crossing Jones Boulevard has been identified as Samira Boghos, according to the Clark County Coroner’s Office.

Boghos, 64, of Las Vegas, died of injuries she suffered in the accident, the coroner's office said.

Police said Boghos was crossing Jones Boulevard just north of Tropicana Avenue about 9 a.m. Saturday when a Ford F-150 pickup driven by a 54-year-old man hit her. She was not in a marked crosswalk, police said.

Boghos was taken to University Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead, police said.

The accident — the fifth traffic-related fatality in Metro’s jurisdiction in 2012 — remains under investigation.
