Motorcyclist killed in Friday crash identified

A motorcyclist killed Friday night in a three-vehicle collision has been identified as 42-year-old Robert Leander Larson, according to the Clark County coroner’s office.

Larson, of Las Vegas, died from multiple blunt force injuries to the head and torso, the coroner said. His death was ruled an accident.

The crash happened at 8:52 p.m. Friday on Sahara Avenue at Grand Canyon Drive.

The preliminary investigation indicates the motorcycle was in the left lane, stopped at a red light, Metro Police said.

A 2007 Dodge Ram in the same lane failed to stop at the intersection and hit the motorcycle, police said.

The collision vaulted Larson over a 2012 Hyundai Tucson and onto the rear window of a 2006 Nissan Sentra, police said.

Larson was taken to University Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead, police said. The drivers of the other vehicles suffered minor injuries.

The accident, which remains under investigation, resulted in the fourth traffic-related fatality in Metro’s jurisdiction this year.
