Man dies after being stabbed near downtown

Metro Police said no suspects have been identified in connection with the death of a homeless man Sunday afternoon.

Police responded at 4:54 p.m. Sunday to McWilliams Street, near Interstate 15 and D Street, after receiving a call about an injured person, authorities said.

They arrived to find a Hispanic man, who police believe was homeless, suffering from stab wounds, police said. The man was transported to University Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.

Homicide detectives are investigating, but no witnesses or suspects had been identified as of Monday afternoon, police said.
