Gunfire at a house party early Sunday left one woman dead and another wounded in the northeast valley, Metro Police said.

Police said officers responded shortly before 1 a.m. Sunday to a home in the 4200 block of Tattersall Place, near Alexander Road and Lamb Boulevard. Several people had called dispatch to report that shots had been fired, police said.

Officers arrived to find one person dead, possibly a juvenile, and another wounded, police said.

After an initial investigation by homicide detectives, police said it appeared that an argument between at least two males began at the party. Multiple gunshots were exchanged, resulting in the two women being struck inside the house, police said.

It appears the two victims were not involved in the altercation and were not the intended targets of the shooting, police said.

No suspects had been identified as of Monday morning, according to police.

Homicide investigators urge anyone with information to call Metro’s homicide section at (702) 828-3521. To remain anonymous, contact Crime Stoppers at (702) 385-5555.
