Letter to the editor:

Voters are sick of spin on debt issue

Regarding Don Merz’ recent letter to the editor “Spin is hiding raw facts”:

Please, no more spin. When Sen. Barack Obama was on the campaign trail in 2008, he said President George W. Bush’s deficit spending was unpatriotic and dangerous. I, like many Americans, didn’t like the deficit spending, and the country voted for change.

Now at the end of this presidential term, the national debt is going to be around $16.5 trillion. If President Barack Obama wins re-election, under his own numbers he will leave office with us owing about $21.5 trillion. Can you please tell all of us how we will ever pay this amount of money off? Please just give us the facts on how this would be possible. No spin, just the facts.

I’m voting for anyone who would shrink the size of this bloated federal bureaucracy, cut trillions of dollars from the budgets, and bring us back to reality before we default and go bankrupt.
